Add a profile
Last updated October 8, 2026
A profile holds the settings for connecting to a server: a link like https://… or a QR code with it. It comes from whoever set up the server — you, an administrator or a service. If you set up the server yourself, see Server setup for how to make a link for it.
Cosmos Client works only with VLESS + Reality profiles.
Where to add
- In the Profiles tab — the + Add profile row.
- On the main screen, while there is no profile — + Add profile at the bottom, or tap the circle.
- In the iPhone widget, while there is no profile — Add: the app opens.
Each of them opens the New profile sheet with two fields: Name and Profile link.
With a link
- Copy the profile link.
- Open New profile. If there’s a link on the clipboard, it’s inserted automatically — iPhone may ask whether to allow pasting.
- If the link wasn’t inserted, tap the clipboard icon on the right of the Profile link field, or type it in.
- The app picks a name for you — tap ✨ to get another one, or type your own. Only you see it.
- Tap Add profile.
With a QR code
On a device with a camera, tap the QR code icon on the right of the Profile link field and point the camera at the code — the link is inserted automatically. If the code isn’t a profile link, the app tells you and keeps scanning.
What happens next
The app checks the link: it loads the profile and makes sure it fits. If everything is fine, the sheet closes and the profile becomes active right away — if VPN is on, it switches to the new profile. If not, a message at the top tells you what’s wrong; common cases are in FAQ.
Adding the same link again doesn’t create a copy: the profile is updated in place and becomes active.
From then on, the profile updates itself: the app periodically loads fresh settings from the server. If the server reports the expiry date and traffic, you’ll see them on the profile card — more in Profiles.
A profile link is like a password: anyone with it can connect to your server. Don’t share it publicly.
